Tippecanoe Electronic Data EXchange
What’s In A Name?

Now that I have TEDEX under control and a fairly decent looking site template layout, I can go back to my other avocations (or hobbies).

I have been heavily involved with electronics most of my life. That’s where the Tippecanoe Electronics in this website name originates.

Tippecanoe was the name of the road I lived on in the 1970’s in my hometown area in Ohio. The name is unusual and therefor provides a unique name recognition and would serve me as a business identity for my electronic projects.

Tippecanoe first became know from a Indian battle in Indiana, USA. Here is a LINK for the details. The battle and other details in the LINK are not why I chose to use the word. It was simply a part of my street address and a very unique word.

In Latin, data is the plural of datum.  Datum is a single point of reference whilst Data is many points.

Thus Tippecanoe Electronic Datum and T,E,Datum (tedatum) was coined by me to become my primary internet identification. TEDEX is an outgrowth from that base.

That’s the etymology and perhaps a bit of the lexicology of Tedex and Tedatum which are acronyms changed into words. 🙂

Wow! So complex.  Most everything I enjoy doing is complex. That’s where the fun is and one never stops learning. Gives me a purpose.

Now retired, I am a pure hobbyist. What appears here in TEDEX is mostly a record of my present activities and interest that perhaps someone else may find interesting.

There are or will be many links to my other blogs and web publications. Two links to my 3D Printing activities are presently (as of this posting) in the bottom header of this website. There will be more as this website develops.

Thanks for your visit. ~ DDK
